Alastair Bruce joins XING AG Executive Board

Hamburg, 27 September 2016 – Alastair Bruce will join the Executive Board of XING AG as Chief Sales Officer (CSO). In this newly created position, he will assume responsibility for XING’s B2B activities. The British-born executive will join the Hamburg team on 1 February 2017. In his current position as managing director of Microsoft Deutschland GmbH, he leads the “Enterprise and Partner Group” for Microsoft’s German subsidery.

“Alastair Bruce is a distinguished and experienced marketing and sales strategist and I am delighted to have him join our team,” says Stefan Winners, chairman of the Supervisory Board of XING AG. “He will help XING expand the already successful B2B activities.”

Thomas Vollmoeller, CEO of XING AG, adds: “Today, XING’s e-recruitment business for corporate clients is our key growth driver. And our B2B businesses for advertising and events have seen double-digit growth rates in the first half of this year. The appointment of Alastair Bruce demonstrates our commitment to sustain our growth.” In mid-September, XING announced its future plans which include revenues of €270-300 million and a €100 million EBITDA by 2020. The B2B activities, headed in the future by Alastair Bruce, will be an important growth driver in this regard.

Educated at Oxford University, Alastair Bruce has held leading marketing, strategy and sales positions at Unilever plc and Mars Inc. in Europe and West Africa. He is founder of the Bruce & Company oHG management consultancy and was managing director at Mercateo AG. Prior to his current role at Microsoft, he held various positions at Google from 2007 to 2014, including Country Sales Director and interim Country Director of Google Germany.
