Member record: XING breaks 14-million-member mark

  • Rapid growth shows that everyone needs a XING profile in today’s world of work
  • Number of paying members exceeds one million

Hamburg, 16 April 2018 — Just six months after reaching the 13-million-member mark, XING, the leading online business network in German-speaking countries, has welcomed another million users to its platform, taking total membership to over 14 million. With around one million new members signing up to the platform every six months, XING remains the fastest-growing online business network in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. XING also broke another record as the number of paying members passed the one million mark. Rapid growth shows that everyone needs a XING profile in today’s world of work It doesn’t matter whether people are looking for a job, interested in growing and maintaining their contact network, or searching for information about ‘new work’ – the rapidly growing number of members shows that everyone needs a XING profile in today’s world of work as ‘the future of work’ is shaping our society like never before. “We know what employers and employees need, and we use this knowledge to give them access to the opportunities heralded by the constantly changing world of work”, said XING CEO Thomas Vollmoeller. XING offers its members a broad range of features to help them forge ahead in their career. “We’re committed to providing our members with innovative products on a secure platform”, Thomas Vollmoeller continued. The new user interface for XING’s iOS and Android apps was recently introduced and uses a modern system that takes design cues from online media streaming services. This makes it easier and faster for XING members to find the content, contacts, news feeds and job ads they’re looking for. Members were also recently given the option to send and receive end-to-end encrypted messages in the XING apps. This environment ensures that confidential business information such as bank account details, login credentials and internal documents can be shared securely. The encryption process involves encoding messages on the sender’s device before they’re transmitted and then decoded on the recipient’s device, thus preventing access by third parties. Number of paying members exceeds one million XING also reached another milestone in terms of its Premium membership: The network now has one million paying members in German-speaking countries. Premium members enjoy all of the basic features along with added benefits such as additional profile fields to increase findability in search results, an ad-free profile, and discounts from selected partners that help knowledge workers remain flexible. Such offers include mobility deals provided by car2go and Sixt, access to workstations in shared offices in various cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, a free CV and XING profile check provided by HR experts, and audiobooks and business book summaries to facilitate lifelong learning.

As a way of saying thank you for these milestones, XING is holding a prize draw for its Premium members where it will give away a 17-day trip to Vietnam for two as well as ten coaching packages each worth €1,000. Further details about the prize draw are available on 1million.xing.com.
