05/13/2025 | New Work SE
Hamburg, May 13, 2025 - Petra von Strombeck (55), a member of the Management Board of New Work SE since January 2020 and its CEO since April of the same year, has informed the company's Supervisory Board that she intends to step down from her position at the end of the Annual General Meeting on June 23 and hand it over to her successor. This is at her own request and by mutual agreement with the company's Supervisory Board. Henning Rönneberg (56), who was appointed to the Management Board as CFO&COO in March of this year, will succeed Strombeck as CEO at the end of the Annual General Meeting.
During her time in office, Petra von Strombeck has comprehensively restructured the company and focused on the strong XING and kununu brands. In the course of this, XING has set the course for repositioning itself as a jobs network through a product and marketing offensive. It also succeeded in developing the kununu brand into a strong growth driver. The leading employer review platform in German-speaking countries not only reported strong revenue growth, but also significantly expanded its market-leading position.
Tom Bureau, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of New Work SE: “We regret the decision of Petra von Strombeck, who has led the company through extremely turbulent times. The pandemic began right at the start of her tenure, followed by the longest recession in the post-war period - with an immediate negative impact on the business. She steered the company well through these difficult waters, systematically repositioned it based on the changed conditions and resolutely transformed the business model. We would like to thank her for this achievement and wish her all the best, both professionally and personally.”
Petra von Strombeck: “Together with the great team at New Work SE, we have succeeded in developing kununu into the biggest growth driver and to reposition XING for the future. Now the company is entering the next phase. It is important to place the management in new hands right from the start. And I am convinced that Henning Rönneberg is the ideal candidate for this.”
Henning Rönneberg, CFO and COO as well as designated CEO of New Work SE: “I am very much looking forward to the tasks ahead of me. Petra von Strombeck and her team have set an important course for the future. We will build on this and write the next chapter of one of the leading digital companies in the German-speaking world.”
