XING passes 7 million-member mark in D-A-CH

Hamburg, 27 January 2014 – XING, the leading online business network in German-speaking countries, is continuing its strong member growth. In mid-January 2014, XING passed the 7 million-member mark in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Around 600,000 members are registered in Austria and Switzerland respectively. XING has 14.1 million members worldwide. According to the IVW, in December 2013 XING recorded over 31.46 million visits  for the first time ever, with more than a third of those visits coming from its iPhone and Android apps.

Thomas Vollmoeller, CEO at XING AG, said: “The year has started really well for us. We’re very happy to have passed the 7 million-member mark in German-speaking countries right at the start of this year. Our member growth shows that a lot of people set great store on their business network, especially during the transitional phase our labour market is currently seeing. Our aim is for our members to have a better working life, no matter what people perceive that to be.”

At the end of December XING launched a widespread campaign on various German TV stations under the motto “Für alle, die arbeiten. Und leben.” The campaign involves four stories which tell how XING helps people to develop their career or create a positive work-life balance. Each ad focuses on people and their individual lifestyles, not on optimising their career from a purely economic perspective. The TV campaign is based on our new claim, “For a better working life”.
