Interview

Hi Aaron, tell us ...

how you got into recruiting.

I started out in HR as a working student. My colleague from recruiting at the time then went on parental leave and my supervisor at the time saw my potential for recruiting and offered me to cover for her. In other words, I went from being a working student handling e-learning to a recruiting employee standing in for someone on maternity leave. That’s the story of how I came to be in HR and I love it!

What’s your favourite spot in the office?

The open space for our team as it allows me to get a feel for what’s going on in other areas. It’s a great way of staying up to date. Of course, there are always quiet areas as well if that’s more your thing!

What would you say to someone looking for advice on preparing for an interview?

Think about what you’d like to know about the vacancy, team and culture, along with anything else you’re interested in finding out. Write down your questions so you don’t miss any of them and can stick to the order you set yourself. That might sound simple, but it’s really effective.

'We are matching talent with opportunities'. At New Work SE, we follow, share and drive our mission. What does it mean to you?

I try and understand what potential candidates are really looking for so I can approach them with the right position. Considering someone for just one vacancy simply doesn’t meet our expectations when it comes to a modern recruiting approach. It is much more about finding the job that really suits the candidate.
