Let's talk about Marketing

Tim tells you more about working in marketing at XING and why this job is particularly interesting

Interview

Hi Tim, tell us ...

...why do you like working in marketing at XING?

The challenges at XING are huge, which I find exciting. XING is planning a repositioning and that can only be achieved with good marketing. I would like to contribute to this.

How would you describe the working atmosphere in your team?

The marketing team at XING is highly motivated and a lot of fun to work with. The team spirit is excellent and encourages me on to give my best every day.

What has been your most exciting project at XING so far?

Definitely sponsoring the Baller League, from negotiating the contract to organising the player draft process.

What does a typical working day at XING look like?

We have teams that work in a very project-orientated way, for example those who currently prepare the activation of the Baller League and the associated campaign. However, we also have teams such as CRM, Design or Copywriting, which continuously contribute to achieving XING's business goals with campaigns within the framework of CRM, for example.

What is the best thing that has happened to you at XING so far?

Being able to contribute to the repositioning of a brand is an exciting task and challenge for every marketer.

XING is part of the New Work Group, why is this the right employer for you?

XING is in the midst of a transformation that is being significantly shaped by marketing. As VP Marketing, I can make a contribution to this and this is what motivates me.

Do you have any tips for people who are interested in a marketing job at XING or another New Work company?

It's always a good idea to keep an eye on the careers website and find out which brand and which job might suit you. And even if there's nothing there at the moment, you can also express your interest by sending an unsolicited application.

In your opinion, what are the most important factors that make someone a marketing professional?

As everywhere, professional expertise is a basic requirement. A VP should also have a certain amount of experience. As marketing, unlike other specialist areas, often involves large sums of money, entrepreneurial behaviour with regard to the use of budgets is very important. Added to this is the necessary strategic vision, as many measures are aimed at long-term effects and are therefore future-oriented.
