  • Total revenues rose 23 per cent to €42.2 Million
  • New quarterly member growth record
  • XING CEO Vollmoeller: “XING is in an excellent position for future growth”

Hamburg, 3 May 2017 – XING AG, operator of the leading online business network in German-speaking countries, saw the dynamic growth it achieved in 2016 continue during the first quarter of 2017 with each revenue stream reporting double-digit growth rates. Total revenues rose 23 per cent to €42.2 million During the first quarter of 2017, total revenues rose 23 per cent to €42.2 million (€34.3 million). Revenues in XING’s B2C segment grew by 12 per cent to €20.5 million (€18.3 million). The B2B E-Recruiting segment was again the groups’ largest growth driver. Thanks to its recruiting solutions, XING generated revenues of €17.1 million, an increase of 40 per cent compared to the previous year (€12.2 million). The B2B Advertising & Events segment also saw strong growth and reported a 23 per cent increase in revenues to €3.6 million (€2.9 million). During the period under report, XING’s EBITDA grew by 15 per cent to €12.0 million (€10.4 million). This was attributable to increased marketing expenditure for an out-of-home campaign and the New Work Experience event held in Berlin. The €5.1 million in profit (€5.3 million) remained at the same level as last year due to planned investments to expand XING subsidiary kununu’s operations in the US. New quarterly member growth record Thomas Vollmoeller, CEO at XING AG, said: “XING got off to an extremely successful start to the year. We saw double-digit growth in every segment. The increasingly tangible lack of skilled workers is generating a rise in demand for our modern e-recruiting solutions, which is reflected in our positive revenue growth. At the same time, the changes taking place on the labour market mean that more and more people are realising the need to have a XING profile.” XING reached the 12-million-member mark in March 2017 after welcoming around 567,000 new members during the first quarter, which is the highest quarterly member growth the company has ever seen. Adding in XING Events users, 12.7 million (10.6 million) people were registered XING members as of the end of March. XING CEO Vollmoeller: “XING is in an excellent position for future growth” In the last few years, XING has increasingly aligned itself as a partner for its members, helping them to benefit from the fundamental changes taking place on the labour market. XING’s entire communication is oriented towards this aim, with a key component featuring during the first quarter, namely the New Work Experience event which is the largest event dedicated to the topic of new work in German-speaking countries. Close to 1,000 guests from industry, start-ups, recruiting firms and media companies attended the event hosted by XING with a schedule featuring 40 hours of content provided by more than 80 first-rate speakers and panellists. XING also rolled out several new product developments during the first quarter, including the first steps taken to turn the XING messaging section into an instant messenger based on new usage practices that require increasingly accelerated and instant communication within a professional environment, which also extends to mobile devices. As well as a new design, the XING messenger now allows users to see their entire communication flow with a contact at a glance, while a tick tells them whether the recipient has already read the message they sent. Development of the messenger will continue over the coming months. Vollmoeller added: “We’re in an excellent position to continue writing XING’s growth story as more and more people are asking themselves what the changes on the labour market have in store for them on a personal level. We help people to answer this question and to take advantage of the opportunities these changes present. We achieve this through useful contacts, inspiring information and matching jobs. We will of course continue developing our product portfolio in line with the needs of our members.” About XING The leading online business network in German-speaking countries supports its members in mastering the transformations taking place in the world of work.
